Questions about our Tours
Who organises the Airtickets for the flights to and from South Africa?
You need to arrange your own flight to and from South Africa. We will give you the dates that the tour commences and ends, and you then make the appropriate arrangements to get to South Africa on the appropriate date. We will then meet you at the Airport at the beginning of the tour.... and we'll see you safely off when it's time for you to go home. This is to your advantage: Air Travel is much more competitive outside of South Africa. You will therefore be able to secure much cheaper airfares in your home country than we could arrange for you!
Insurance
All clients must be covered by Travel Insurance. As a precaution, your travel insurance should cover medical expenses. Please contact us for details of our travel insurance packages.
Luggage and what to bring
We request that luggage is kept to a minimum i.e. bring one suitcase/holdall and a small daypack per person.
A torch (for the camping trips), binoculars, hat and sunscreen, mosquito repellent, camera, music tapes etc. are all useful items to bring. If you are participating in a camping tour, a sleeping bag is essential. A personal medical kit might be a good idea, although we have first aid kits on each tour.
Weather/Clothing
The winter lasts for approximately 3 months of the year - June to August. Days are pleasantly warm, but the nights can be cold. Warm clothing is advisable. Summer days are very warm, so bring suitable clothing. A waterproof jacket is recommended, irrespective of the time of year.
Medical Issues
There are several world-class hospitals in Southern Africa. In addition, Rolling SA has the most up to date information, so if there are any problems at all we will be able to deal with them quickly, efficiently and safely.
